The sound of the OPA627BP in the output stage was a bit better than the NE5534.
What about the Burson V6 VIVID that replaced the OPA627BP? Again there was a very little difference in the sound stage, more stereophonic , sound wise a bit more colorful but very marginal.
Just comparing the Marantz CD-85 with my Nakamichi CDP-2e with it’s original NE5532 even with the Burson’s in the output stage the Marantz CD85 just can’t cope… Maybe some Burson’s in the I/V stage will make the difference….
